CHRISTMAS HOOD by Emily, Phil and Tony Boardman Chapter 8: Closing In John had passed the message on to Virgil and Alan in London and explained that Scott and Gordon had not had time to explain why they felt the target would be going to Harrods. “Of course” said Virgil “Scott and Gordon have been studying movement patterns. They are predicting that the next transmission will be from the area around Harrods. If we can get there we should have chance to use the mobile transmission sensor” “Good work fellas!” said Alan, as if his other brothers were in the car with them “International Rescue working as a team.” Parked outside the Harrods store, Virgil and Alan stared at the display on the mobile transmission sensor. “Come on, Come on!” Virgil muttered under his breath. “I’m sure were going to sense something this time Virgil.” Alan said hopefully. But then impatiently he turned to his watch. “John, have you heard any transmissions?” “No Alan, nothing more since Buckingham Palace.” John replied. Virgil and Alan stared so intently at the display that they didn’t notice the pink Rolls Royce pull up beside them. “Have you boys finished all of you’re shopping already? I suppose you are listening to the cricket on that radio are you? Virgil jumped in his seat, Alan blushed furiously, they both started explanations “We are just …erm” but neither finished. “Well if you have finished your shopping, I have also so why don’t we go along to a tea rooms and take high tea.,” she suggested, in a way that neither of the brothers could refuse. Later they found out from John that the transmission had ceased and so they hadn’t missed anything anyway. “You know,” said John “I think it must have been The Hood sending those transmissions you know. I think he must have seen you at Harrods and been scared off from whatever he has been doing.” “It was really irritating getting so close and not getting to the bottom of those transmissions,” said Virgil “But whatever we did, we managed to stop whoever it was, from doing whatever they were doing.” “Yes” said John “I think we should count it as a successful mission. Even though it was an unofficial mission. I think Scott and Gordon have had to work very hard to keep Dad happy.” “Hmm!” added Alan “And we have had to eat a lot of food to keep Lady Penelope happy! See you when you come home for Christmas John” “F.A.B Alan, Virgil.” said John. On to Chapter 9: Christmas Morning. | |||||
