CHRISTMAS HOOD by Emily, Phil and Tony Boardman Chapter 7: One Step Ahead Back at Tracy Island Scott and Gordon had had great difficulty keeping up with events. Everywhere they went their Father seemed to follow them. As they listened in to John’s message about the transmission coming from The Tower of London, they were in the music room but they had to quickly end the telecom when their Father came in asking if they knew where Brains was. They had moved to the pool area but as they tried to contact John to get a report on what had happened so far. John had to close the telecom quickly because Father was trying to contact him. They were about to contact John again when Brains came asking if they knew where the mobile transmission sensor had disappeared to. They quickly explained that they thought it had been stored in Pod 3 of Thunderbird 2 and moved to the games room. They were just getting a report from John that the transmissions had moved on to The Houses of Parliament when their Father appeared and asked them “Don’t you two have any work to do?” So they moved on to tidying up the spacesuits in Thunderbird 3. When they got the message that the transmissions had moved to Buckingham Palace, Scott had an idea. “This isn’t any good!” he said “Alan and Virgil will be chasing this person all over London. We need them to get one step ahead of this person. Quick let’s go to the library. There’s a map of London there.” “OK Scott,” Gordon said “Tower of London, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace” he pointed out the places on the map as he said them. “The target seems to be heading West at a fairly constant rate, so if they keep going they are going to be over here next.” He waved his hand in a circle over the map. “What landmarks are there in that area?” asked Scott “We need something to direct Alan and Virgil towards.” “Just museums and shops” answered Gordon “Shops!” exclaimed Scott “Well they were supposed to be going Christmas shopping weren’t they” He pushed a button on his wristwatch “John, don’t ask questions, we’ve had an idea. Send Virgil and Alan to Harrods in Knightsbridge!” “That’s an excellent idea,” said Jeff Tracy as he walked into the room “but I’m sure Alan and Virgil can manage to shop all by themselves. Now will you two PLEASE get some work done!” The two boys went bright red and muttered “Yes Father.” simultaneously. On to Chapter 8: Closing In. | |||||
