CHRISTMAS HOOD by Emily, Phil and Tony Boardman Chapter 4: Something Needs to be Done “Hi Brains” Scott greeted as he entered Brains’ lab. “Oh, oh, h-hi Scott” stammered Brains in response. “Brains, I’d like to discuss these transmissions that John, has been picking up in Thunderbird 5” Scott commenced. “T-t-transmissions?” said Brains “Yeah, John’s been receiving some coded transmissions that the decipher machines can’t decode” continued Scott, waiting for Brains to become enthusiastic. Scott knew that nothing interested Brains so much as a technical problem. “R-r-really Scott” answered Brains “I’ll have to look into that, but just now I need to check Bramens’ batteries, so if you’ll excuse me …” and with that Brains left the lab rather quickly. “Well!” said Scott to himself “I never thought Brains would be so uninterested!” Scott found Gordon, Virgil and Alan in the music room and explained the situation. “Well something needs to be done!” exclaimed Virgil “We can’t just wait until the Hood attacks us.” “But, I don’t think Father will let us investigate this, he doesn’t seem to think that there is anything to worry about.” Replied Scott “Well maybe we should investigate it ourselves without Fathers support,” said Alan. The others looked at Alan in amazement. The very idea of carrying out a mission without International Rescue support was just too incredible, but Alan saw their shocked faces and continued. “I just mean without Father knowing. It is December, I am sure if a couple of us were to go to London to do some “Christmas shopping” then we could find time to carry out some investigations while we are there. We could keep in touch with John and the others. John would guide us to the transmissions and we’d be able to investigate who is making them” Slowly the others looked at each other and smiled. They were beginning to think that this was a good plan. “Well that’s a good idea boys,” replied Jeff when they asked him if it was OK for Virgil and Alan to spend a weekend in London, Christmas shopping “Things are quiet around here just at the moment and maybe you’ll get me something nice for Christmas. I’ll contact Penny, I’m sure she would like to have you stay with her.” On to Chapter 5: Excuses, Excuses. | |||||
